How long have you been a member of the Lowcountry Chapter of AFP?

I have been a member for almost 3 years.

How has being a member of AFP helped you in your work?

AFP allows other folks in the nonprofit/ fundraising world to gather together and bounce around ideas that may help move the needle in their organization. Also, the networking aspect is very strong within AFP. I have had the chance to meet some very neat individuals that are very efficient at their craft! I have been in the nonprofit world for over 14 years, and I must say the Lowcountry AFP chapter is by far one of the best groups I have been around!

What advice would you offer to new AFP members?

I would say to get plugged in and give AFP a shot! You won't be disappointed!

Something my AFP colleagues might not know about me is:

I love to read American History!

What is the one thing you want people outside of the fundraising profession to know about what you do?

If you are a passionate about something and it has made an impact in your life or in children's lives, please support that cause or organization in some fashion. If you don't have the means to support your passion with money, then find a way to volunteer your time.
