Job title: Development Officer
Employed by: Avian Conservation Center / The Center for Birds of Prey
What I like most about my job: I love the unique way the Center approaches conservation through birds of prey. I have been impacted by the Center since I was 11 years old, and now I get to be a part of engaging others in that work.
I joined the Lowcountry Chapter of AFP because: My colleagues in the Master of Arts program for Philanthropy and Development at LaGrange College in Georgia encouraged me to get involved in my local AFP chapter. I love networking and growing professionally and AFP provides a great forum for that!
I'm originally from: Moncks Corner, SC
My hobbies include: Volunteering with Lions Clubs International (the world’s largest service organization, dedicated to serving the blind and visually impaired) and building/flying high-powered model rockets.
Something my AFP colleagues might not know about me is: I have a real passion for international missions and love working with the Hausa people in West Africa through the IMB.
If I had one week to do anything I wanted, I would: Plan a road trip to Hawk Mountain in Pennsylvania during the fall migration to see and count some of the 20,000+ migrating raptors that cross this landmark each year.
