Job title: Vice President of Development
Employed by: Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce (CMCC)
What I like most about my job: CMCC is deeply involved in education and workforce issues; recognizing the need for a highly educated and technically skilled workforce. Being involved with an organization building up local young people to be qualified for employment in the area’s 21st Century workforce is both challenging and gratifying. I am energized when my work helps others.
I joined the Lowcountry Chapter of AFP because: AFP has always been a great source of information and education for the fundraising/development professional, while offering opportunities to connect with others. Being new to Charleston, AFP membership has helped me get involved and meet peers throughout the community.
I'm originally from: Kansas (Yes…I’ve heard LOTS of Toto jokes since moving here!)
Previous work experience: I served 8 years as the Executive Director/CEO of a Community Foundation in Kansas working with passionate donors to support exceptional community organizations and projects.
My hobbies include: Kayaking, paddle boarding, exploring the beautiful East Coast, travel and projects around our home.
Something my AFP colleagues might not know about me is: My husband and I moved to Charleston in June of 2015.
If I had one week to do anything I wanted, I would: Travel! My husband and I love to travel and start planning our next trip on the way home from a vacation.
