Employed by: Trident United Way – Donor Engagement Officer
What I like most about my job: Being a member of a team that is making strides to impact our community in so many ways. They have a true commitment to measuring and evaluating their outcomes, which makes our donor experience an enjoyable one.
As Summer Institute Chair, my goals are to: Offer professional development and networking opportunities within the fundraising community to students, young careerists and seasoned professionals alike. Just wait until next year, the planning has already begun for SI 2016!
What I enjoy about serving on the board: Learning from the best of the best.
I joined the Lowcountry Chapter of AFP because: I wanted the opportunity to grow as a fundraising professional, and meet others who share the same passions as I do.
I'm originally from: I was born in Washington, D.C., where my father came from Colombia S.A. to train as an Anesthesiologist. I grew up in Atlanta, but have lived in the Lowcountry since 1998.
My hobbies include: I’ve taken up stained glass, and am working on a panel based on Van Gogh’s “Starry Night”. Let’s just say I have plenty of band-aid’s on hand ;)
Something my AFP colleagues might not know about me is: My family is originally from Barranquilla, Colombia. Home of famous types like Sofia Vergara, Shakira, the new Miss Universe, and Nina Garcia from Project Runway.
If I had one week to do anything I wanted, I would: Definitely travel. First pick would be Rio de Janeiro in Brazil, but there are many more on the list!
