Job title: Director of Development
Employed by: Lowcountry Open Land Trust
What I like most about my job: I enjoy working with a dynamic team and board of directors that is truly dedicated to permanently preserving the irreplaceable landscapes, working farms, and unique quality of life that we have all come to enjoy in the Lowcountry.
As Governance Chair, my goals are to: Support the chapter and its board to promote the mission of the Lowcountry AFP chapter.
What I enjoy about serving on the board: The board has been a wonderful way to connect with other fundraising professionals and collectively work towards improving our profession and field.
I joined the Lowcountry Chapter of AFP because: Now several years ago, the Lowcountry AFP Chapter was the best way to immediately connect with other fundraising professionals.
I'm originally from: I grew up on a working cattle and horse farm in a small town in West Virginia.
My hobbies include: I am very fortunate to have a wonderful wife and very active six year old daughter. While life is kept busy with family activities, in my free time I competitively race sailboats, serve on several other nonprofit boards, and enjoy outdoor activities of all kind. I am also a partner in a growing timber company.
Something my AFP colleagues might not know about me is: I am studying for my sommelier certification and actively collect wine.
If I had one week to do anything I wanted, I would: A week is not long enough to do anything exciting with zeal! With a month, I would sail the Islands on a 60’ Swan Yacht.
