Job title: Development Officer, Reunion and Annual Giving
Employed by: The Citadel Foundation
What I like most about my job: I’m really inspired by the fact that I’m able to use my skills, education, and experiences to help bring funds and resources that will impact the cadets that are attending The Citadel.
What is the legacy that you want to leave: As a fundraising professional it has always been my hope that I would make a big impact in the community that I live in and support. “Life’s most persistent and urgent question is, what are you doing for others?” Martin Luther King, Jr. I hope that I motivate others to make a difference for the organizations that make up the Lowcounty.
What I enjoy about serving on the board: This is my first year on the board for AFP Lowcountry I am looking forward to sharing ideas and learning from other development professionals. Being in development I have found that it is a constant evolving industry and the opportunity to be around other likeminded people is rewarding.
I'm originally from: Charleston, SC
Finish the phrase: If not a fundraiser I would be ...
“…a graphic designer or some form of artist. I studied art in college as my minor and absolutely loved it. I enjoy being around anything artistic.”
If I had one week to do anything I wanted, I would: TRAVEL! I had the opportunity to go to Paris and the 2012 London Olympics. I would love to travel abroad again to Greece or Italy. The opportunity to disconnect and be immersed in another culture for an extended period of time is very refreshing.
