Liz Mester

Job title:  Director of Engagement

Employed by:  WINGS for Kids

What I like most about my job:  I love to connect. Whether I’m connecting new donors to our mission, reconnecting engaged donors to our program, or collaborating with other non-profits to help our kids – I love it.  WINGS has a story to tell and I’m proud to be one of the voices that shares it.

My goals as Vice President of Professional Development are to:  My emphasis this year has been in two places when it comes to Professional Development: 1) collaborating with other AFP programming in an effort to make opportunities stronger, and 2) diversifying the experience levels for which we currently offer professional development opportunities.

What I am looking forward to while serving on the board:  I’m most looking forward to connecting with driven, smart people who are leading Charleston’s non-profit community!

I joined the Lowcountry Chapter of AFP because:  I originally joined AFP in 2009 as a way to “get myself out there” as I was a new development assistant out on the scene. I needed all the help I could get and sometimes I still do!

I'm originally from:  Atlanta, GA

My hobbies include:  Cooking, traveling, yoga, writing letters, playing with dogs.

Something my AFP colleagues might not know about me is:  I’m left-handed!

If I had one week to do anything I wanted, I would:  Host the Academy Awards!
