Mission Statement: The ARK of SC provides hope and relief to families living with Alzheimer’s disease or a related dementia.  The program allows caregivers a much needed break from caregiving responsibilities. The care receivers are able to socialize with one another in a program of social activities tailored to their needs in a loving and caring atmosphere of complete acceptance.

Desired Experience, Education, Skills, and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent in experience) preferred

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Publisher and Excel

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding listening skills

  • Strong organizational skills; with the ability to prioritize and handle multiple initiatives simultaneously ensuring constant forward movement

  • Ability to keep the big picture in mind while also paying close attention to details

  • Ability to have calm and gracious composure at all times

  • Ability to represent the agency in a professional manner at all times

Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • A strong commitment to our mission of providing opportunities for families living with Alzheimer’s disease or related Dementia is essential

  • Cross train with respite program duties and assist with program as needed

  • Be kind, empathetic, and compassionate with the “members of The ARK Club” as well as the caregivers, volunteers, and staff

  • Receive and record all messages on phone log and direct calls as needed to staff members

  • Tabulate incoming tuition payments, memorials, donations, grant funds, fundraising funds; Record on deposit detail and summary and make bank deposits

  • Ensure monthly billing to caregivers and scholarship sources is timely, maintain billing data,  scholarships, and grants use

  • Recording of minutes of Board of Director Meetings and other committee meetings

  • Multi-tasking throughout the year with multiple fundraisers ( Dancing With The ARK’S Stars, Race for The ARK and Annual Fund Drive and other events as developed

  • Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; calling for repairs; maintaining equipment inventories; evaluating new equipment and techniques

  • Maintains office and program supplies; anticipating needed supplies; placing and expediting orders for supplies; verifying receipt of supplies; lending library, resources, brochures etc. management
