Prosperity Center Operations Specialist

Essential Function 1:

Oversee day-to-day operations of Dorchester Center to include the monitoring and collaboration with the in-house partner staff, Experience Works and AmeriCorps members, coordinating and maintaining the Center calendar as well as requesting marketing assistance as needed to ensure collectively that goals and deliverables outlined are achieved and that they are contributing to the shared goals of Center. 


Essential Function 2:

In collaboration with the other Operations Specialist, and with the oversight of the Financial Stability Director, advises regarding changes to, and trains on the Prosperity Center policies and procedures; develops standard operating procedures; and fine-tunes other processes in order to maintain consistency in operating models.  Creates opportunities to establish a consistent, shared culture of excellence through weekly meetings, team activities and trainings that reinforce quality service delivery and coordination.


Essential Function 3:

Oversees partner tracking of activity and data and develops monthly, quarterly, and annual reports and presentations highlighting outputs, outcomes and success stories.


Essential Function 4:

Supervises the facilitation of educational class offerings and workshops for the accessibility of and participation by the community using tools including Charity Tracker, media resources, TUW marketing and other community resources as available.


  • Participates in weekly Prosperity Center staff and partner meetings
  • Participates as a project lead, and/or member of organizational development teams as required.




Associates degree required. Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.  


  • 2 years of experience in coordinating administrative functions or other related experience.
  • Experience working with nonprofits that provide direct service to low income individuals is preferred.


  • Ability to successfully cross-train in, pass and utilize all training certifications and/or exams, including, but not limited to, IRS Tax Preparation Advanced Certification, Charity Tracker, The Benefit Bank,  Job Search Training and Services Knowledge Proficiency Exams, Social Solutions ETO, Liquid Planner project management tool
  • Ability to work well with professionals on all levels, as well as individuals in need of service
  • Demonstrated proficiency using MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint and database software
  • Critical thinking and problem solving
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to quickly adjust to change, work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Knowledge of standard office equipment operation and ability to trouble shoot
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate, consistent records and files



  • This job requires exerting up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.
  • Worker must frequently use typical office equipment (telephone, copier, printer, fax, etc.).
  • Worker sits most of the time.
  • Worker communicates with constituents, clients, and/or partners by phone and in person.
  • Routinely required to walk and occasionally travel by car.



Primarily works in a climate controlled office-based setting.
